The SP-BMC-2 Sound Professionals Mini Standard Binaural microphones are very small - (approximately 1/4" in diameter X 1/2" long ). A flexible cable enters the rear of each mic capsule. General information about all of our Binaural microphones is available here.
The microphone cartridges are very rugged and are hand crafted to insure a lifetime of accurate recordings. The two microphone elements are each mounted in their own high quality durable rubber housing. Optional clips are available. Power requirements: 2-12vdc "plug in power", power from Battery Module, or phantom power with power converter adapter.
Additional Information: Binaural recordings are two channel recordings created by placing two Omnidirectional microphones in or as close to the ears as is practical. Using this technique, the location information contained in the frequency, amplitude and phase responses of the left and right channels closely match the cues required by the human auditory system to localize sound sources. Positioned in this way, these Binaural microphones accurately capture sonic information coming from all directions and will produce extremely realistic recordings when listened to through headphones.
